    What the ….

    I’m next

Free Speech is slipping through our fingers, and no one can do anything about it. Don Imus, JV & Elvis, Opie & Anthony, General Batiste. What’s next? I am so angry right now with what is happening in our society that I can’t even take it. It’s like clones from the 1950′s have declared war on the freedom by trying to bring back decency. Where do we live?

Sometimes I wonder about my own blog entries. What if I want to pop onto my blog & say that I think George Bush is an idiot. What if I want to make a racially charged joke that I know is just light-hearted. Will I be carted off to the place in the sky where they take people who cause too much verbal trouble? What is going on with society lately? Why are people getting more and more uptight.

A few weeks ago Opie & Anthony had a bit on their show that featured a homeless caller. During the call he described that he wants to sex up Condoleeza Rice, Laura Bush & Queen Elizabeth II. During the skit they replied along the lines of “I can imagine the look of horror on her face if she looked up & saw you holding her down”. And now, there’s strong speculation that they are going to get fired for this. Total and utter BS. I want to know who was seriously offended by this? And what exactly were they offended by. And if people are offended at this, then what is going to be left when the censorship reign is done? Is television also going to come under the knife?

I don’t even know what to say. I want to write a letter. I want to make a change. I want to make it so that the powers that be stop catering to the loud & annoying few, and listen to the majority that doesn’t even care. Look, rappers are going to say stuff about bitches & hoes. Emo bands are going to cry about their daddies. Radio Shock Jocks are going to say whatever the hell they can to offend people. These are the social roles that people in the entertainment industry are assigned. These are the things that the masses want, they demand.

I can’t even form a coherent thought about this, society just pisses me off so much. If you guys see any petitions or campaigns popping up let me know, I want to sign a million letters. If you check out wackbag.com there’s more information on the whole event. If you are an XM Subscriber, make sure you call in & write angry letters. I am not so unfortunately I cannot do that. But do it for me! I hope Opie & Anthony just start doing podcasts, eff the airwaves.

Hello! My name is Jacquelyn, but I go by Quelyn. I have lived in New Jersey my whole life. This is my blog. It is sorely in need of a more regular update schedule, as I am surely in need of some inspiration.
